The Drupal Way: Building sustainable building blocks

Drupal development is undergoing a revolution. Instead of developing modules or alter existing modules with form alters and theme overrides, more and more can be done by combining CCK, Views and other high-level building blocks, and by extending their functionality with sub-modules. I call this new modus operandi The Drupal Way.

It truly is a revolution. The Drupal Way made it possible for us to build Sony-Ericsson Labs on Drupal with only 162 hours of development time. Something we hope to talk more about at DrupalCon Paris.

In his blog post, Building sustainable building blocks, Larry Garfield, aka Crell, gives his perspective on The Drupal Way, and example of how that helped Palantir to build Foreign Affairs on Drupal. The post is a must-read for everyone interested in Drupal and Drupal development.

If you, like me, find Crell’s blog post interesting, you can vote for it at Digg and DZone.
